​​​​​​​​The City of Antioch is offering low to moderate income first time homebuyer Antioch residents and workforce an informational workshop to introduce the City of Antioch’s Home Ownership Program (AHOP)


The free workshop will explain how eligible AHOP participants may be able to secure up to $60,000 in subsidy from the City of Antioch.  Eligible homebuyers may also have access to up to $60,000 in additional subsidies/grants from AHOP partnering organizations.  First time home buying households who live and or work in Antioch are encouraged to attend this free virtual zoom informational introductory AHOP workshop.

There is limited AHOP funding and subsidies to be disbursed on a first come first served basis.

The introductory AHOP virtual zoom workshop will be held at 6:00PM to 7:30PM Thursday, February 27, 2025. Topics Covered at the Workshop 


The AHOP workshop will help workshop attending households further understand:

  • How to prepare yourself to purchase a home and take advantage of the AHOP and partnering subsidies. 
  • First time homebuyer education and Counseling requirements and opportunities.
  • Subsidies made available through the City’s AHOP funding and other sources of funding eligible households will have access to.
  • AHOP requirements and restrictions, including and not limited to: Program requirements to be considered a first time homebuyer, maximum household income allowances, credit scores, down payment requirements, maximum housing cost allowances, maximum subsidy allowances, and program participant preferences
  • Steps and projected timeline for an AHOP participants to secure funding from the City and other subsidy sources.  Points discussed will include: 

                        * How to secure AHOP HUD approved homebuyer education and counseling
                        * The AHOP application process
                        * Working with a 1st lender to get a 1st mortgage preapproval
                        * AHOP program pre-approval and final program approval process
                        * Finding a home and securing Final Approval and funding to purchase your Program

The AHOP Workshop is being hosted by the City of Antioch, Bay Area Affordable Homeownership Alliance (BAAHA), A-1 Community Housing Services, and First Citizens Bank.  Speakers at the workshop will include Nancy Rivera, the Executive Director of A-1 Community Housing Services; Walter Zhovreboff, the Administrative Director of BAAHA; and Josie Ramirez, the Managing Director of Community Lending with First Citizens Bank.

There will be a questions and answer session for attendees to participate in after the presentation.
